Parque Vacacional Eden

We first stayed here nine years ago and enjoyed it enough to come back with two friends. We all had a great time. Breakfast is excellent, with plenty of options; hot dishes stay warm and are refilled regularly, as is the rest of the food. The coffee is very good too. Staff at reception, the restaurant and housekeeping were all friendly and helpful. The rooms are starting to feel dated, but they're clean and have what you need. The gardens are beautiful and well kept, and the fifth-floor pool is a nice place to relax and get a drink from the bar. The rooms don't have AC, which is my only real criticism, but there's usually a breeze so it's not a huge problem. The hotel sits up a steep hill, which brings great views. There's a bus service to and from Puerto De La Cruz, and taxis between the town and hotel are very cheap if you don't want to walk.

I wouldn't come back. The reception staff and waiters were lovely and helpful, and I appreciated the peaceful setting and beautiful, well-kept gardens. But the rooms weren't to my taste and felt very outdated. You get what you pay for, I guess. I found spiders and cobwebs and didn't even use the wardrobe. The biggest disappointment was paying a £35 deposit for a fan and iron. With no AC, I expected a fan to be a basic item provided at check-in. I'm grateful for the staff's kindness, but the accommodation itself let the stay down.

We came at the end of October and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were lovely and gave us ideas for things to do with our 5-year-old. The room was spotless, and the food was delicious. My only complaint is that the rooms really need air conditioning. Everything else was perfect.

The women working there were kind and helpful, but the “2nd boss” brushed off my feedback until my husband spoke to him. Our Christmas holiday at the hotel, and with the travel agency we used, was a huge disappointment. I got food poisoning from the restaurant, and the next day there was a mouse running around. We also found lots of cockroaches in the bathroom that they couldn't poison. When we finally changed rooms, the new one was really cold, with noisy renovation work going on behind the door. I wouldn't return. It wasn't worth the price.
