We had a terrible first night because the people next door were noisy until 3 a.m., then again from 6 to 8 a.m. The room walls are so thin you can hear everything. On the plus side, the place was very clean, and the location is excellent, close to the bus terminal and the plaza's bars and restaurants.

We felt at home each evening, and the warm welcome and traditional houses gave us wonderful memories. We stayed three nights in Santa Ursula and explored the island's north, including La Laguna and Santa Cruz, and hiked around Mount Teide. We also found restaurants in both Santa Ursula and Puerto Cruz.

I came back to the guesthouse after 47 years. It's in a fantastic spot, and though I didn't need any service, the staff were very accommodating. The rooftop terraces unfortunately aren't open to guests anymore. Breakfast was part of the booking back in 1970, but Plaza del Charco is only a few steps away now. Great location and a great price to match.

I can't say how the guesthouse is because I couldn't stay there. I arrived in Tenerife on a Friday night in August to find it closed, with a sign saying it wouldn't open until September. I'd booked directly more than two months ahead and called the week before to confirm. I felt like breaking down the door. Price mattered a lot to us, and on a touristy island in mid-August, where else could we sleep for a whole week without paying €70 a night?

The hotel was very noisy inside and from the street. Everything else was fine, except the hot water wasn't working on the first evening. I went downstairs to ask the receptionist to sort it out, and the problem was fixed a couple of hours later.
