RF Astoria - Only Adults

The staff were lovely, and it's only a short walk to the sea. The hotel is in a great location and was good value for money. It's an older building, so there aren't as many plugs as you might want, and the kitchenette is tucked behind large cupboard doors. The only thing I didn't like was that towels were changed just three times a week.

We had no internet for three days, and the hotel offered no compensation at all, not a refund, credit, or even a small gesture such as breakfast or laundry. When I asked to shorten my stay because of the outage, they wanted a formal email instead of sorting it out directly. They said a storm caused the problem, but with water leaking through the roof, it seemed more like poor maintenance. The hotel is very old and has poor sound insulation. One receptionist spoke barely any English and had a very unpleasant attitude. This wasn't the level of hospitality I'd expect in such a tourist-heavy area.

Esperanza and the other reception staff were excellent, and the hotel was clean, friendly and central. It's a good little place for the price. We had parking reserved, which was excellent given how difficult it is to park on the street. Breakfast was a letdown, though. We don't usually eat early, and on the first day a lot of things were missing. We skipped it the next day, then had to leave fairly early on our last morning, so breakfast was fine then. The kitchenette was handy for breakfast and a late-night drink, and the room was cleaned every day. Staff were great, and it's quiet despite being close to everything. I'd happily stay here again when I'm in the area.
