Apartamentos Flamingo

This small complex is in an excellent spot, just steps from the beach, restaurants, bars and shops. We had a first-floor two-bedroom apartment with a roomy balcony. It was clean, if a little dated, with comfortable beds, a good shower and a kitchen that was adequate. It cost much less than some nearby places we’ve stayed. The staff were all very helpful, especially at reception. During our one-week stay, housekeeping came and changed the towels three times. There’s no air conditioning, but you can get fans from reception. I’d definitely stay again.

The rooms are large and the location is excellent. Air conditioning would be a real plus, though fans are available to rent. Getting a sunbed can be tricky depending on the other guests, and the rooms could use a revamp. Still, it’s excellent value and I’ll definitely book another stay.

Our apartment felt more like a dormitory, there was nothing nice about it. The bathroom was dirty, the floor had ingrained dirt, and the toilet seat was stained with urine and looked about 20 years old. The whole place gave me the ick, with dirty corners throughout. There was no fan and the microwave smelled. It wasn’t fit for purpose, and when we complained, all we got was a shrug and the response that it was old. Never again!

It’s a basic but very clean apartment. There’s no air conditioning, but the breeze on Lanzarote keeps it comfortable. We had a sea view from the balcony, and the location on the main street was good. With only about 20 apartments, the pool area wasn’t too busy. I’d definitely go back.
