Las Palmeras

We stayed in a private apartment, No.10, and look forward to coming back later this year and in the years after. It's a spotless, well-run complex, with cleaners who pay great attention to detail. The colorful gardens are maintained, and the pool and surrounding area, including the sun loungers, are cleaned regularly. Esther at reception is very friendly and always available for questions. You can buy water there, and borrow from a wide selection of books. The small complex is ideal for a relaxing stay near the center of Puerto del Carmen, with easy access to the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. I couldn't fault it.

What stood out most was the location and service. The staff were friendly and helped arrange a taxi to the airport even though reception was closed. They'd emailed us a week before arrival with instructions for collecting the keys, so there was no worry when we arrived and found reception shut. The apartment had good facilities, including an oven, a full-size fridge and freezer rather than a small freezer box, a spacious, fairly modern bathroom, and a TV with channels in several languages. One of the nicest cheap and cheerful self-catering places we've stayed at in this resort. I'd stay here again.

We were a couple, but had two small single beds. That would be okay for a few days, but we prefer a double, and if we'd known, we wouldn't have booked this apartment. The boiler ran out after about two minutes, leaving the second person with a cold shower, and the Wi-Fi was slow. The place was simple but nice, close to the beach with plenty of parking, and the kitchen had everything we needed. The pool looked lovely but was cold.

A real bargain. The apartment had a lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, with super-comfy beds, everything needed in the kitchen, a safe in the room and a nice pool.
