Nautilus Lanzarote

By the end of the week I wished we'd booked two weeks, and I'd definitely choose Nautilus again. We arrived to find our one-bedroom booking upgraded to a two-bedroom apartment with a bathroom and an extra toilet, plus a fabulous sea view from the terrace. The pool wasn't heated, but after the initial shock of the cold it was fine. The week was fairly quiet, so there were plenty of free sunbeds, though we used the ones at the apartment. The area around the pool gets slippery when wet, so take care walking between the pool and a sunbed. Nautilus is well placed for the beach, restaurants and shops. You can buy a 5-litre bottle of water at reception instead of carrying one back from the supermarket. There is lovely artwork around the complex and a small gallery below reception.

The terrace gets sun all day, and the apartments are spacious and clean. It's peaceful, so good if you're after a relaxing stay. The pool area is lovely, but there's no restaurant or bar, so bring your own drinks. Restaurants and bars are about a 10-minute walk away.

A very relaxing place with a nice, calm atmosphere and an old-world feel. The apartment block is clean and decorated with lovely art. There's a good-sized pool and breakfast facilities. It's nine minutes from the airport and close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Really chilled, highly recommended.

The hot breakfast was cooked to order, but only just warm, which is my one complaint. We stayed in a two-bedroom adapted superior apartment that suited our needs perfectly. Everything was within a five-minute walk and wheelchair accessible, and the staff were very helpful.
