Rocas Blancas Apartments

Right by the seafront, which made this basic, no frills apartment hotel worth it for us. The room was very clean, the staff were friendly, and it worked well as a base for exploring.

We had three apartments, and the shared living and kitchen space made it easy for all of us to get together. The rooms were large, the pool was lovely, and the place was good value. It’s just off the main area, a one minute walk away, with no hills, and the apartment stayed quiet. There’s no air conditioning, but the fans were great on their medium setting at the end of May. They had three settings and were quieter than air conditioning, and it may not have been as hot then.

This apartment is a hidden gem in a good location, with everything you need close at hand. I’ve stayed here twice and had a great time. The only downside is all the steps up to the apartment, which could be a problem if you have trouble walking.

We’d definitely come back, even though a big roach startled us when I got up around 3 am to use the bathroom. I got rid of it, and we didn’t see another one in the apartment or anywhere around the complex, but it gave my friend and me a fright, lol. Our room had tiled floors, a little terrace, and simple, clean furnishings. The staff were very polite. Since we were arriving late, they told us in advance to pick up the keys from the small bar just outside the entrance. We did that and checked in the next morning. The place was easy to find and well located. The 161 bus from the airport stops almost outside, and there’s a big sign for the complex above the main entrance. The courtyard has the pool and reception, with plenty of sun loungers. There’s also a small terrace just above reception for a little more privacy away from the pool.
