Fonda Naval

The Aragon Pyrénées are impressive, and this hotel is right in the middle of them. The hotel was good.

The hotel rooms are clean and spacious, though the beds are a bit uncomfortable. Sound carries a lot, too. You can often hear doors and even conversations from the rooms next door. Breakfast isn’t served, so you have to find somewhere else in the morning. If you’re heading out early for an activity, that can cost you a lot of time, since the two nearest places don’t open until 9:00. Escalona has little to do beyond lodging, a butcher shop, and a few sports and activity stores. It is, though, a good base for water activities and hiking.

The rooms have the basics for sleeping and washing up, and I found the bed very comfortable. The woman who helped us was really friendly. We chose Fonda Naval for two nights because the location and price seemed just right. The walls are thin, so you can hear quite a bit from neighboring rooms. Even so, we had a very good stay and I’d come back.

The apartments are nice, and the scenery around the place speaks for itself.
