Casa Rural Las Embelgas by Isla Bonita

The night sky and Milky Way are spectacular here. The house has the main bedroom and bathroom downstairs, plus two more bedrooms upstairs, one with two twin beds and one with a single bed. There’s also a second bathroom on the main floor. The kitchen is fully equipped, including a dishwasher and all utensils. It also has a washing machine, a clean pool, WiFi, a large screen TV, DVD player, an extra roll away bed, and a baby playpen. All at a decent price.

A clean, well equipped place for a family holiday if you have a car. The pool and outdoor bbq are nice, and the view of Tenerife is lovely. The night sky is amazing. I’d give it more than 5 stars if I could.

We love this house and have stayed twice already. Everything is wonderful, from the house and pool to Charo's pastries. We’ll definitely come back whenever we can.

The website looks good, but it hides a lot of problems. We stayed at Casa Las Embelgas twice and were very upset both times. The house wasn’t clean when we arrived, there were lots of ants throughout, and the dishwasher didn’t really work. The stovepipe had a large hole, so smoke came into the living room. It had only been wrapped temporarily with aluminum foil. That’s irresponsible and life-threatening. They promised to fix the problems promptly, but by our second stay nothing had been done. It’s already cheeky to show pictures of the broken chimney on the current website. Such a shame, since we would have liked to book the house again for several weeks, but we no longer trust the landlord. Update: The landlord’s reply, which I have in writing, was that there are ants and nothing can be done except poison them; that there is no Wi-Fi in the house because of various problems with the phone company; and that the chimney is clogged. But the issue is the stovepipe leading outside. It has a large hole that was simply wrapped in aluminum foil. Anyone who uses the fireplace gets very strong smoke in the apartment. This is life-threatening. The landlord and the various portals listing the house seem uninterested in these problems. Still, the landlord spares no time, money, or effort trying to remove this critical review.
