La Cabanya de Cal Forn de Serrat

The village and cabin made for a wonderful stay, and I really appreciated how well equipped everything was. The beds were comfortable, though one bedroom was a bit dark. Outside, there's a large parking lot, but you have to walk uphill to get there. The views are beautiful, and the cabin looks great from the outside. A few things could be improved. The gate is very low, so someone could easily sneak in, and there's no peephole in the front door. The windows have no curtains for a nap, the sofa is uncomfortable, and the TV is old, with no YouTube or Netflix. The bathtub is tiny, with room for just one person. I'm giving the service three stars because nobody greeted us like they usually do elsewhere or explained basic things about the house. We also had no hot water on the first day, which was awful. They should take these details into account.

Pretty good overall. We ordered groceries from their supermarket and they delivered them. The mattresses could be better, and there was nowhere to hang my phone in the shower. There was no oven, blender, or hand soap either.

The snow made our two full days with family and friends especially fun. We stayed in a cozy house with decent rooms, a fireplace and a barbecue, and the hosts looked after us really well. They were friendly, made us comfortable, and even let us leave later. The kitchen was clean, though anyone very particular might still notice something. A couple of things to keep in mind: the road needs careful driving. It’s two-way, narrow in many places, and there’s a precipice along one side, so two cars often can’t pass. The rustic decor feels more like leftover pieces put together than something made for the house. We woke up to snowfall on Sunday, which was a lovely surprise. Bring chains if snow is expected, just in case. We didn’t need ours because we waited for the right time to leave, but we saw another car that did. We were told a machine would come to clear the snow if it got heavy. Maybe we’ll come back next year!
