Hostal-Bar Restaurante "La Fuente"

Pilgrims might want to keep walking. The friendly, smiling service seemed to be reserved for locals.

The room patio and the house villa we booked felt almost unreal, like something out of Hollywood. The food was incredible too. We weren't sure what to expect from such a small town, but the owner and staff were incredibly welcoming when we arrived. After starting our Camino in St Jean, this was easily the best place we'd stayed. We were glad we walked a few more Kilometers instead of taking a rest day in Burgos. An unforgettable stay, an absolute must.

Dinner was excellent, and everyone on staff was kind and thoughtful. The accommodations were simple and quaint.

I had to cancel three days before my stay because of circumstances I hadn't expected. I understood that the policy meant losing the full room cost, and I knew the hotel was booked around those dates. I still hoped they might waive the fee given what had happened, or let me shift the reservation date so I could change my route, but neither request worked out. My disappointment is about the customer service and the lack of pilgrim spirit I experienced, something I'd found so beautifully in other places along the journey, not about the hotel following its cancellation policy.
