The owners are warm and friendly with every guest, and I felt at home the whole time. Breakfast was great, and my room was huge and extremely clean. The whole place had excellent anti-covid measures. Easily the best rural hotel and personal service I’ve experienced in years. 10/10.

José was a fantastic host, always happy to help. We’ll definitely come back. This beautiful, well-placed hotel gets a full ten from me, which is rare. It ticked every box. Our large, airy room had a balcony and a complimentary tray with cake, tea and a kettle, a first for me in Spain. The rooms are beautifully restored. Downstairs there’s a cozy lounge where we played chess and had a drink from the mini bar. It’s a great stopover, close to the A8 Cantabria motorway yet away from the traffic and bustle. It’s also near the Altamira caves at Santillana del Mar and a handy base for exploring Cantabria and the Picos de Europa. Breakfast can be served indoors or outside when the weather’s good. We had toast, fruit, homemade cakes, juice, Tortilla and a huge pot of tea. We didn’t need to eat again all day.

The building has plenty of character, and the owners are attentive. It’s a lovely spot in a quiet little village. The floors creak and the rooms aren’t very soundproof, though that may even be part of the charm. Recommended.

The owners are what really made it for me, they make you feel at home. It’s a cozy place and well located for exploring Cantabria. Everything was perfect.
