Hotel Bobal

The terrace is a nice place to sit when the weather cooperates, and the hotel is good value. It's a simple, clean place with friendly service and very good hot water. Breakfast doesn't offer much choice, even though they try to provide good service. Keep in mind it's 1.8 km from Plaza de España, outside Requena's town centre.

You'll need a car to reach the old town, since the hotel sits on the outskirts of Requena. It's an affordable choice with excellent service. The clean rooms have a private shower bathroom, wardrobe, desk, mini-fridge, and TV. There's a café, a pleasant outdoor terrace, and a lounge too.

We had a wonderful time on a package with one night at the hotel, a vineyard tour, and lunch. The staff were attentive, and the simple hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. It's at the entrance to Requena, a little way from the centre, but having a car makes that fine. Someone has mistaken it for the place across the street, which is the hotel in ruins, not the Bobal.

Filthy, with spiders and terrible food. The jam and butter were expired, and the staff were inappropriately familiar and unprofessional. The room was the smallest I've ever seen. There was no bathroom door, just a gap from the room, though strangely you could enter the bathroom from outside, which explains the two keys. The wardrobe was in the bathroom.
