Pension Arbidel

Ribadesella is lovely, and this small hotel has a lot of charm, spread across several levels. We paid a good price for a very nice, clean room, with daily cleaning. Mine was at the top, almost like an attic. The skylight windows needed to stay shut when it rained, but I wasn't bothered by the heat and hardly spent time inside anyway. The owners run the street-level restaurant, which is also where you check in and have breakfast. There are plenty of steep stairs, and the walls seem thin enough that you may hear neighbors talking.

The room was cold and smelled musty, with high humidity. There was no heating for cold weather, and the bathroom had no window or extractor fan. The towels were so thin they barely absorbed water. On top of those problems, the property owner and manager were careless and unpleasant. I'd avoid Pension Arbidel if you don't want to freeze and sleep in a cold, smelly room.

We were walking the Camino and stayed in late April 2025. The place was spotless, with everything new and in perfect order. We had booked two single rooms but were given one single and one twin. The single was tiny, while the twin was much bigger. Reception was really friendly. I can't recommend it enough.

A charming little guesthouse right in the center of Ribadesella. The staff were super friendly and courteous, the service was great, and we really enjoyed the breakfast.
