The location is handy on the Camino Espiritual, with cafes, bars, a grocery store, and laundry nearby. The room was very clean, the shower was hot, and although the beds looked like small hostel beds, they were comfortable. Still, it was very basic for the price, and there was no service. Getting in was a problem. Reception was empty, the front door was locked, and the code we'd been sent didn't work. The phone number listed on Google was out of service, even when a local tried calling from home. Once inside, I found a key for room 2 in a bowl on the desk, despite our email saying room 1. At that point, we were glad to have any room at all. There were no glasses in the room.

It was really noisy until early morning.

I called to ask about a room for one night and whether dogs were allowed. The guy asked how much my dog weighed. I said around 10 to 12 kilos, and he told me it was no problem for one night with a small dog. I also said I'd arrive late, around 10:30, and he said that was fine. But when I finally got there, late at night and in the middle of nowhere, he told me the room was €41 and the dog would cost another €35. When we'd spoken, he'd said there'd be no charge for the dog. That should've been made clear beforehand, not after I arrived with nowhere else to sleep. I saw it as taking advantage of the situation because of the late hour. I called another place fairly nearby. They were about to close, but said they'd wait for me, and saved me from sleeping in the car. I wasn't going to give this place a cent after such unpleasant treatment. Not recommended. Another place seven minutes away also left a review here, and I loved it. They were super friendly, and I'd recommend them.

We'd been back quite a few times, and this hotel-restaurant was a lovely surprise for us. The weekly menu is generous, and the food is excellent day after day. Their takeout options are very good too. The staff are attentive and friendly. Definitely worth giving it a try, even if you're just starting out.
