Loredo Surf House

The location is handy, just a short walk to the beach and the main street’s shops and restaurants. There’s no bar on site, but that didn’t bother me. Guests can use longboard-style skateboards on the pump track and small bowl just outside, which is a nice extra on flat days. The shared kitchen has plenty of space and is well equipped, though there’s no oven. For surfing, there are board racks, a place to dry wetsuits, and outdoor showers. The hosts are genuinely welcoming and very accommodating. It’s big enough to meet people, while still keeping a comfortable, friendly feel. I’d recommend it 100%.

Loredo beach is a five-minute walk away, and the place is quiet enough to get a good night’s sleep, especially compared with the main house. It’s a nice budget stay with amazing staff, but it’s self-catering, so plan for that. Guests share a kitchen and dining area; some people are considerate, others less so. If hygiene matters a lot to you, be aware that some guests leave dishes and cutlery poorly washed. About half the guests smoke.

The staff are amazing, and I’d definitely come back. For surfing, I think this is one of the best spots in the area. I gave the rooms four stars because we found a cockroach in ours, and the windows really need mosquito screens. By the end, it was clear we weren’t the only ones bothered by that.

We met some lovely people and would be glad to come back. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the kitchen was spacious, well stocked, and really clean. The house is perfectly located for getting to the beach.
