Antonio the owner was lovely, and very talkative if you’d like to practice your Spanish. The breakfast staff were also lovely, and breakfast was good, with homemade fritters and magdalenas on some mornings. The room had a nice countryside view with cows, good bed linens, a comfortable mattress topper, and a nicely sized bathroom with a window. We were in room 14. It’s a pleasant country guest house, still not far from the coast and beaches. The bed was tiny at 135cm, with an old-fashioned long traversin pillow. They hadn’t mentioned that breakfast wasn’t included, though it was only 7€/person, so that was fine. They said breakfast is never included in the room price, while our next hotel said it always was.

Antonio’s cheerful and really helpful. The Posada sits in lovely green countryside, so it’s quiet but still very close to the beach. They have an arrangement with a surf school and offer good prices.

We were there for a wedding at Huerta de Cubas, right next door, so it’s handy to keep in mind if you have a celebration there. Even with just one night, we could tell it’s a lovely place. The garden and views are beautiful, the rooms are a good size with comfortable mattresses, and it’s peaceful. The owner was a wonderful host. Thank you.

The rooms were fine, though there was one downside: they don’t sweep. We killed a bug one night and it stayed there, but oh well. Breakfast was thoughtfully put together with plenty of choice, including gluten-free options if you ask ahead. The place itself is beautiful and well maintained, and the gentleman who greeted us, who seemed to be the owner, was incredibly friendly and attentive. He suggested places to eat and visit and told us about different spots in Cantabria. A very pleasant stay, and I’d be happy to return.
