Hotel 9 Sant Antoni

The food and the room were both really good: it was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we enjoyed the two-course fixed-price lunch. But getting the bill turned into a hassle. I asked several times, then finally gave up and went to the counter to pay. During the meal, staff kept hurrying us along, bringing mains before we’d finished the starter and asking about dessert before we’d finished the main. I understand there were people waiting for tables, but it was irritating. We’d come for lunch with my partner, and the rushed service was disappointing.

We enjoyed having dinner and breakfast at the hotel. It’s a pleasant, good-value place right in the heart of Ribes-de-Freser, and the owner’s family were very friendly and spoke English well. Nuria Rack Railway is about a 10-minute walk away, either from the station in the center (Vila) or from the train station (Enllac terminal).

The place doesn’t have much character, but it’s new, clean and really nice. The bathrooms are fantastic, and breakfast is good quality. I liked how much thought they’d put into things for kids. The heating was very good, too, and the staff were helpful and nice. Definitely recommend! :)
