Bluesea Calabahia Hotel

The breakfast buffet was the best part, with lots of choice and very friendly staff. The pool area was clean and well kept, with plenty of sunbeds, and the nearby beach and shops were convenient. We didn’t spot the gym during our stay. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, but the bathroom had problems. The shower had old wooden slats on the floor, and water ran onto the stone flooring. I slipped and slightly hurt my back, which seemed unsafe, especially for elderly guests or children. The windows opened wide but had no safety cables, another concern. Our first impression was let down by the dirty exterior windows, which didn’t look like the pristine pictures in the advert. Check-in itself went smoothly, and the reception staff were pleasant. We arrived 2 hours early and the room was ready, but still had to leave and come back. I asked about an upgrade and was quoted €100 for the two nights. That felt unfair since several reviews mentioned free upgrades. There’s room to improve. I wouldn’t call this a true 4-star hotel, more like a solid 3 to 3.5-star stay, though some changes could really improve the guest experience.

We booked through booking.com, where the terms said there might be an extra charge for dogs. When we arrived, we found out it was 37 euros for one night with our very small dog. We’d never have booked if we’d known beforehand. The room for two adults was 48!

The hotel was very clean, and I liked the breakfast, location, and friendly service. When we arrived on the second day, the administration had left us a complimentary fruit plate. It was unexpected and really nice.

My daughter stayed in one of the suites and found it fantastic value. The location was perfect, and the staff were friendly and helpful.
