Hotel Maria Cristina

The location was great, and I could head to the beach whenever I felt like it. Everything I needed was within a 10 minute walk. The staff were amazing too. They graciously helped me sort out a problem that was completely my own mistake. I can’t recommend this place enough!

The room was decent and very clean, and housekeeping came around regularly to tidy up while I was out. The location is excellent, right beside the beach, just a 2-3 minute walk away. I booked a few nights from August into September, and the hotel is about 30 minutes from Malaga Costa de Sol Airport.

The room smelled absolutely horrible, and there was grime over everything, from the walls to the furniture. The bed was old, and the sheets and towels looked like they’d been used for years. Noise kept me awake, and the disgusting room made me feel claustrophobic. It felt more like somewhere people come to shoot up than a hostel. Worst place I’ve ever stayed.

We arrived at 11:30 pm and found the shower broken in our room. The receptionist asked us to wait 10 minutes for a colleague to check it, but after half an hour nobody had come, so we went back down. The new colleague came up, then asked us to wait another 10 minutes while he looked for a replacement part for the shower head. When he returned, he said he couldn’t find one and that the owner would look at it in the morning. We explained that this was our only night and we had to leave at 7 am, and asked if we could move rooms. He said no. We also asked for a refund, but they refused.
