Hotel Riotuerto

The rooms are simple and clean, and there’s a hairdryer in the bathroom. It’s a very peaceful spot by the river, with distinctive decor that makes the hotel feel welcoming. The service is friendly, and they’re attentive to what you need.

The bathroom is definitely tiny, but the Wi-Fi was among the best I’ve had at a hotel, especially for a one-star place. For 75 euros, four people got a clean room, a good breakfast, and warm, family-like service. They also arrange discounted park tickets. Great value.

The hotel sits in a beautiful valley setting, close to Santander, Somo beach, and Loredo. Our room and breakfast were included at a very good price, and breakfast was plentiful, served by two kind, attentive women. The owner was friendly and helpful, telling us about the town and where to go for food and sightseeing, and even helping with our luggage. Our room was cleaned daily with care, and we bought our Cabárceno Natural Park tickets at the hotel. La Cavada is lovely, and we fell for the scenery. We’ll be back.

The hotel is handy for Cabárceno and Santander, and the price is good. Rooms aren’t fancy, but they’re perfectly fine and very clean. Breakfast was good, with the lovely Luz serving it. The staff were pleasant and attentive, shared information, and booked tickets for us. I’d stay here again if I’m in the area.
