Plaza De Toros

The room was directly above the restaurant, but the soundproofing worked so well I could barely hear it. It was large, clean, with a comfortable bed, and the bathroom was new and well equipped. I’d expected the place to be less well-kept, so I was pleasantly surprised by the friendly service and enjoyable stay. The decor feels a little home-made, but they’ve put effort into the right things.

The location is very good, right in the centre, and the continental breakfast included 2 toasts, butter, ham, cheese, croissant, jam, coffee, and juice. Even so, I wouldn’t stay there again. We arrived exhausted after a long journey at 8.00 pm and asked where the hotel parking was so we could leave the car and rest. The receptionist said the hotel parking was already occupied and we’d have to find public parking. We drove around town for 40 min looking for a free space, but even the public car parks had no vacancies. We eventually found a spot on the street about 1 km from the hotel. With our big suitcases, we took only what we needed to get through one night. It was one of the worst experiences we’ve had on holiday. The booking page says there are el.plugs on the wall next to the bed so you can easily charge your phone. That wasn’t true in our room(208). The only plug beside the bed was occupied by an el. extension with the 2 night lamps plugged into it. To connect a phone charger, you had to crawl on the floor and find the free plug spot.

The location was great, and when we arrived ahead of schedule they did let us into our room early. But there were usually no staff at the front desk because they split their time between this hotel and the one across the street. In winter our room was very cold, and there was no obvious thermostat to adjust the temperature. We could hear a lot of street noise and sounds from neighboring rooms on the second floor, which kept us up late.

The location couldn’t be better, right where you want to be in Ronda. Puenta Nueva and the Bullring are 30 seconds away, and most restaurants are 1-3 minutes on foot. I loved my stay. I had a small single room, but it was excellent for the price. Parking at the hotel is limited, so I used Parking La Merced near Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de la Merced. It was easy enough, and you can still pay at the hotel. I’d recommend it to solo travellers, and can only assume the larger rooms are just as good.
