What a disappointment. We arrived at the apartment we had booked only to find it was reserved for someone else for another two weeks. After driving 1,300 km, we were left stranded in the street without anywhere to stay.

The stretch of coastal path from the lighthouse to Canyelles beach is lovely, particularly on a sunny day. Along the way, you get shimmering sea, its distinctive color, lush greenery, and views over the Bay of Roses. You can also carry on along different trails to Almadraba, Punta Falconera, and beyond, all the way to Cadaqués. Highly recommended.

La Bahia de Roses is beautiful. The promenade in the town of Roses (Girona) makes for a lovely walk.
