Hotel Marina

I can’t comment on the hotel itself, but the restaurant service was poor. We waited 30 minutes after sitting down before the young woman took our order. She brought churros without the chocolate we’d asked for. When we reminded her, she brought hot chocolate and acted as though we were dumb for asking, saying that’s what goes with churros. Careless service.

The hotel is right on the beach, with a beautiful view, and the boulevard is within walking distance. There’s parking nearby, breakfast is good, and the staff are friendly. But it’s very noisy: you hear the street and other guests, and a toilet flush sounds like it’s in your own bathroom. Bring earplugs :)

Our room had an incredible view, and the staff were lovely and very helpful. The rooms are a bit dated, but the hotel has its own charm. There’s a parking garage, including a place to charge an electric car if you have a cord that plugs into the wall. It’s accessible friendly too. I walk with a cane and had no trouble getting around. We can’t wait to return. One downside: you can’t watch sports in the hotel bar, since the TV is only used for music.

The front desk staff were helpful, and the location was the only other good thing. The rooms were awful for noise. You can hear everything as if it’s happening in your own room, whether people are walking past or someone in the connected room next door is moving around. There was no soundproofing. Between street noise and sounds from inside, it was quiet only from 3-7 am. Also, after my partner showered, the bathroom flooded and we couldn’t use the washroom for a few hours.
