S&L Costa Ballena By Life Apartments

The beach is nearby, and pets are allowed, though I was charged €50 for mine. The main bedroom mattress was fine, but the other two were very soft and sagged badly. The en-suite bathroom felt dirty, cramped, and very dated, with a shower screen that leaked and didn't work properly. The apartment has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I definitely wouldn't recommend it.

For an apartment sold as luxury, the quality was really mediocre. We paid almost €300 a night at Urb. HOYO 11, and I wouldn't go back or recommend it. The kitchen was ancient, the fridge didn't cool, the beds were uncomfortable, and we couldn't get Wi-Fi at all. The reception staff were very rude. Neither shower was usable: the heater kept cutting out every minute and the water was cold, while one screen came apart when closed and the other bathroom flooded completely. A premium price for terrible service. It felt like a complete rip-off.

We tried the place out in June and are coming back for our vacation. The ground-floor apartment we stayed in had access for people with reduced mobility, and late check-out is available, which is a nice bonus so close to the beach. A couple of small things in the apartment hadn't been reported, but although we arrived late, they were sorted incredibly quickly. The staff are excellent, and the service is impeccable even outside regular hours.

The pool at Los Ánsares is huge, lovely, and peaceful, and the surrounding area is quiet too. The apartment (261), though, was in very poor condition, with basic, poor-quality furnishings. The double bed had small, torn sheets, and the old bedspread was too small as well. The terrace only suited four people despite our booking being for five, and there was nowhere to put the extra bed. The toilet and towel rack were broken. Staff were friendly, but after we reported those issues, nobody came to fix them. We also asked for the air conditioning instructions and got no response.
