Spirit Hotel Ciudad de Burgos

The restaurant was a highlight at dinner, with excellent food that seemed carefully prepared. Breakfast was also complete and very high quality. The recent renovations have given the place a new lease on life, and the design is lovely. The bedrooms are really comfortable, the modern bathrooms feel classy and well thought out, and I appreciated the three large, comfy pillows. Definitely a stay I’d repeat.

A good stop on our way down to Southern Spain, close to the motorway. We stayed in one of the first class rooms and didn’t have any noise issues. It’s pet friendly too, and there were lots of guests with dogs.

The big garden was nice for stretching our legs after a long day on the road, and family rooms are available, which are getting harder to find. It’s a handy overnight stop if you want to stay close to the motorway. Breakfast used to be 5/5 in 2020, but the quality has dropped to 3/5, which is a shame for such a lovely hotel. Neither the restaurant nor the cafeteria serves food before 8pm, so bring snacks for the kids. A few things could be better: keep the gym open later than 8pm, add outdoor games in the garden and a board game corner inside for winter, and offer fewer but better breakfast options.

The rooms were clean and nice, and the food was good and fairly priced. But at 0800 on 04/01/2026, one of the women in charge of the breakfast room came up to me out of nowhere and accused me of going in and out of the buffet room to steal food, I guess. I was just having a quiet breakfast with my 8yo daughter. She was rude and confrontational.
