El Balcon De Ruidera

I can't understand the good reviews unless they're fake. We reported the owners to see if anything comes of it. In our experience, they were scammers and liars, and the whole stay felt outrageous. We rented the entire house for six people, but one room was locked. They said six people meant three rooms, then asked for another 320 euros in cash, with no receipt, to open the fourth. We paid because we were already there with the kids and didn't want another argument. Later, they complained that we'd used the air conditioning too long or had the lights on until midnight. The apartment itself was average. The photos show the views, but there isn't really a view. Getting in means climbing stairs, with no easy way to carry suitcases and no access for disabled people. The air conditioning was weak and so noisy it made sleeping difficult. The beds were tiny, and using the air conditioning and oven together blew the fuses. They also demanded an extra deposit, which I believe is illegal, and expected us to mop before leaving. They checked everything before returning the deposit. They insisted we take the trash out in the morning, outside the permitted hours, and threatened not to return the money if we didn't. The container was a long way away, especially given the house is up a difficult hill. The owner literally told me that in Ruidera you can put the trash out at 11 in the morning, and didn't seem ashamed to say it. There are plenty of other places to stay in Ruidera. Try somewhere else if you don't want your holiday spoiled like ours.

The house is average, but what we went through was really unpleasant. We booked it for four adults and two children, one couple, two siblings, and the kids. The owner assumed there were two couples and a room for the children, then locked the fourth bedroom. When we explained we'd planned to use all four rooms, he said it would cost another €120, plus a €200 deposit because the room supposedly had valuables. I assume he meant the 19-inch TV in the living room. There wasn't much else to the place: separate beds in each room, uncomfortable mattresses, and very noisy air conditioning. The owner, a former car salesman, acted like he knew everything and wouldn't let anyone steal from him. Apparently €890 for three days wasn't enough because, as he said, Booking.com takes a big commission. It was a bad atmosphere from the first day. Shameless and stingy. Find somewhere else. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Pepa, who came to hand over the keys, and the owner were both so friendly. The house was perfectly clean and tidy, and the location was great. I'd definitely recommend it.

Getting to the house is difficult, though the place itself isn't bad. The air conditioning was weak and noisy, but we could put up with that. What made the stay impossible was the owners. They charged us extra, took the money under the table, and demanded a deposit just for staying. Even though we rented the house, they said they had keys and could come in whenever they wanted to check nobody else was there. Before leaving, they made us clean and take out the trash to get our deposit back. Just unbelievable. I hope I never have to see those scoundrels again.
