El Mirador De Ruidera

The house itself is really nice, and the experience was good until I found bed bugs in the bed. Now I'm covered in bites. The other downside is that you can't make any noise after ten o'clock.

Vanessa was attentive from the first day through the last and gave us loads of information about the area. Her recommendations for places to eat, things to visit and where to buy cheese were all spot on. The room had everything we needed and was clean, as were the pool and facilities. There was a barbecue, plus a washing machine and dryer, though you need to bring your own detergent. The village is close, and you can reach the nearest lagoons without a car. We stayed five nights and even got to experience the village festival, which made the trip even more spectacular. It was completely quiet in the room, and we slept perfectly. After a summer in lots of villages and rural hotels, this is the place we'd most like to return to. Thank you.

We were four adults staying for two days in April 2025. We'd originally booked for New Year's Eve because the place seemed so exclusive, but had to change our dates. Vanessa gave us an excellent welcome, explained the house and shared a very comprehensive app. When the hot water caused trouble, they sent help right away. The problems were harder to overlook. We paid €1,200 for the two days, and they asked us to pay €600 in cash. Everyone can decide for themselves what the reasons might be. The pool was one of the things that attracted us, but it never reached a comfortable temperature. The highest reading on day two was 22°C. The showers were cold on the first day and still cold when we tried again the next day, despite all the home automation, lights and bathrobes. That evening we called hoping for a hot shower, and a plumber came quickly and fixed it. But the following day, even with hot water, it went cold again after each shower. We'd imagined the location would have lovely views, but it wasn't ideal: there's no garden, and it looks out onto the road and a school in Ruidera itself. For this price, it isn't worth it at all. Time will tell whether they make changes.

Ruidera Lakes and the accommodation are both amazing, and the hiking trails around the lakes are well worth exploring. Don't miss the viewpoint beside the house. We booked the whole place and loved it. It had every detail we could think of, including lots of kitchen utensils. A bit of rain meant we couldn't enjoy the pool as much as we'd hoped, which was a shame.
