Hotel Paraje La Lambra

We thought we’d seen plenty of hotels, including some five-star ones, but my son said this was the most beautiful of them all. The sunrise and the views are stunning, and it’s hard to put the feeling into words. The place is simple and rustic, with big olive groves around it, and it gave us the feeling of being on grandpa’s farm. Nothing fancy, just charming. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay, and it was worth the drive.

Finding the hotel is easier with GPS 🙂. Once there, it’s clean and quiet, set on a hill in the middle of an olive grove. The owner was really friendly, and breakfast had a lovely local feel. You can walk down to the lake through the olive trees. Definitely worth a visit and a stay.

I was assured by phone that I wouldn’t be charged after my reservation through Booking.com was canceled because the hotel announced its restaurant was closing. But the hotel charged my card a month later, after failing to tell Booking.com the reservation had been canceled. The cancellation wasn’t my fault, and I was lied to. Fraud.

We felt right at home here. The hosts were open and welcoming, and we’d give them 10 out of 10 for their hospitality. The property is lush with greenery and in excellent condition. There are no other houses nearby, so it feels completely idyllic among the olive groves. The rooms are spacious, with fantastic views over the olive fields. It’s a very rustic, charming family-run place, just as the website photos suggest, though it isn’t a luxury hotel. The host also works as the restaurant’s chef, and the food was delicious. Breakfast was very basic, but it costs less than €5. We enjoyed the toasted bread with homemade tomato oil. The host grows olives and makes his own olive oil, which we liked so much we took home two bottles. The setting is also convenient for visiting Baeza and Úbeda. Hotels there are very expensive and don’t have nearly as much atmosphere. We loved this place.
