Hipotels Mediterraneo Club

I'm not usually a fan of big hotels, and we only came here because there was a problem with another hotel we'd booked. But I can't fault Mediterranean. The staff were exceptionally hardworking, polite and friendly throughout. The pool area was immaculate, well organized and had plenty of sunbeds, and there was a spa and entertainment for anyone who wanted them. The buffet was generally varied and good quality, and the whole place was spotlessly clean and well maintained.

The biggest problem was the noise from other guests starting at 6 am, which made it impossible to sleep properly or relax. Smoke drifting from balconies and TikToks played at full volume added to it. Oddly, most of this seemed to come from middle-aged guests, and it doesn't fit with the hotel's high sleep-comfort ratings. The pool sunbeds are packed close together, so there isn't much privacy there either. Still, the place has clear potential and seems ambitious. It's clean, well equipped and maintained, with a calm feel at first glance. The staff were smiley, the food was good and the location excellent, so we'd still consider it a safe choice for another stay, even though some guests don't seem to respect the atmosphere.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but we won't be coming back. The dining room was crowded and the buffet food was mediocre. The hotel was renovated a few years ago, yet the elevators seem to have been overlooked. Waiting around 10 minutes for one was quite possible.

We were only mildly bothered by the centrally controlled air conditioning. Some nights the room felt a little too warm, and being able to adjust it ourselves would have been nice. Otherwise, we had a wonderful six-night stay. The location worked well: Sa Coma is lovely, the hotel is a one or two minute walk from the beach, and the beach is very clean and about 900 metres long. The water stays shallow for quite a while, which made it good for children to play. Our room was clean and well equipped, with a small kitchen that had what we needed for a week. Service was excellent all through the stay. When we arrived late, after dinner, reception gave us some food so we didn't need to go looking for something at night. That thoughtful gesture really stood out. Meals were fresh, delicious and varied, with healthy choices as well as sweets and desserts. There was also entertainment for children. We didn't use the service ourselves, but noticed organized daily activities except on Sundays.
