Son Sabater By Zafiro

Son Sabater has a lovely rustic feel, being out in the countryside on a farm, though it is only a few hundred meters from a highway and you can hear a soft wash of road noise. It didn't bother us, more like distant ocean sound. The villa was comfortable and we slept very well, and we made good use of the sun, pool and gym. Breakfast combines a small buffet with à la carte choices, which were delicious. Dinner was also great, especially the starters and mains we ordered. The desserts were nice, though they didn't match the rest of the menu we tried. It's quite a way from other places, so I'd strongly suggest renting a car if you want to do more than swim and read in the sun.

We booked four nights at San Sabater through Booking three months ahead, for August 18-22, and paid 385 euros per night. The room we were given had just one small window facing noisy air conditioning and ventilation units, and there was no bathroom window. The hotel is beside roads, with views of industrial developments even from the pool, and felt much less charming than many agriturismos in the region. I’d urge travelers to look closely at the surroundings in the photos and check the hotel’s location on Google Maps before booking. When we asked for a decent room, staff said the hotel was full and they couldn’t move us. We were so disappointed that we didn’t check in, cancelled the booking, and decided to look for somewhere with a more suitable setting. Only after we told staff we planned to cancel did they offer to change our room. By then the atmosphere and trust were gone, so we chose to stay elsewhere. We requested a full refund directly and through Booking, but I still haven’t heard back. I paid 385 euros for a night we never spent there.

We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant on 10th July 2025. The food, setting and service were all great. Lluis took such good care of us, and we really appreciated it. It’s a hidden gem, and we’ll be back soon.

A wonderful property with amazing staff, and a great base for exploring the whole northeast. This place is a gem. I’ll stay here again.
