Alcam Sabadell

The room was spacious and clean, with lots of storage. The afternoon cleaning time didn’t fit our schedule very well. It’s a 12-minute walk to a train station with connections to central Barcelona.

We chose this place for a practical trip to Sabadell during Christmas, while our daughter had a sports commitment with the local water polo club (CNS). It worked well for that kind of stay, rather than a holiday. We spent 7 nights in a Two-Bedroom Family Apartment, with two separate bedrooms, a spacious open-plan living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen with a fridge, oven, microwave, hob and dishwasher. There was also a washing machine. Heating worked very well, and the apartment had air conditioning throughout. The hotel is outside the city center in an industrial and commercial area, with warehouses and residential buildings, but we felt safe. Free parking in front of the hotel was a big plus, and it was easy to find free street parking nearby. Supermarkets, bakeries and other basics are within walking distance. Daily housekeeping was provided, and the hotel was clean and maintained. Breakfast came with the rate. It’s basic, with standard choices, but enough that I doubt anyone would be dissatisfied. The building seems to be a former industrial facility, now converted into a hotel. It’s rather old and shows some wear, though nothing was problematic. That background isn’t a negative in itself. The facilities are simple and not modern or boutique-style, but the place is functional and well equipped for essential needs. A good practical option for work or specific commitments in Sabadell, especially if you care more about practicality than luxury and aren’t here for leisure or a vacation.

The neighborhood was nice, and the people were friendly. We stayed in a very clean, quiet apartment that was also well equipped. There’s a large garage under the building. We had a great time and would highly recommend it.

The staff were friendly and helpful even though they were dealing with system problems, which made check-in take much longer. The rooms are a good size, but the bedding felt unhygienic: the sheets are left open, so you keep touching the quilt inside. I haven’t seen that even in the worst hotels I’ve stayed in. The shower setup is odd too, with an opening opposite the showerhead that lets water get everywhere. The car park is cramped and not good for a car you care about. I wouldn’t want to leave my own car down there. You may have to, though, since the area around the hotel didn’t feel good at all, sketchy at best. I wouldn’t recommend walking around there after dark if you might be easily recognized as a foreigner.
