I especially liked that the place runs on its own solar panels and batteries, with a water tank too. It feels wonderfully calm up on the hill, with lovely Catalan countryside all around and the snowy Pyrenees in the distance. The house has a lot of history, laid out in a book inside, and the renovation keeps its original rustic character while adding the comforts you need. Such a peaceful spot to unwind and recharge.

The pool was a great way to cool down after exploring, and the outdoor spaces made the stay even better. Casa Rural Mateus is in a quiet, pretty setting that’s lovely for walks and unwinding. Inside, the house is roomy, spotless, and thoughtfully put together, with rustic character and modern comforts. It’s an easy place to leave city life behind, with what you need nearby, and everything is so well cared for that you can just relax. I’d recommend it for a countryside break.

The house was clean, well equipped, and had room for big groups. Our host was really friendly. The sunset and the views were incredible, well worth the trip. A magical place for a vacation.
