Pensión Isabel by Vivere Stays

The room had a sink and a tiny shower, but the bathrooms were shared among the rooms, something guests weren't told. The bedspreads had stains, the hand soap was watered down, and nobody cleaned the bathrooms during the three days we were there. It's about a 20-minute walk from the center. Awful, one of my worst stays.

The location isn't bad and the owner was friendly, but I wouldn't stay here again. For what the guesthouse offers, €100 for three nights is completely unreasonable. We couldn't sleep well because the noise carried everywhere, even when it was otherwise quiet. You could hear people talking in other rooms, doors and handles, and the main entrance. Some inconsiderate guests came in at 4:00 AM, banging a door and making a lot of noise. Then, from 7:45 to 9:00, a group kept moving in and out of the rooms. The room felt quite old, and the bathroom was tiny. When we arrived, there was hardly any toilet paper, so we called the woman to bring more and waited two hours. There was no hand soap or shower gel either. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone visiting Salamanca.

It's not right by the city center, though being near the train station and public transport made it easy to get to the historic district. The service was good and the staff were very helpful. Among the budget places I've stayed, this one stood out for how clean both the room and bathroom were.

I wouldn't send anyone here unless I disliked them. The place is badly run, with poor staff and awful service, and noisy tenants who use drugs or alcohol and disturb people at all hours without considering anyone else's rest. It seems to attract people with no other option or those who don't know what Salamanca has to offer. For me, it's one of the worst places in the city to spend a night.
