Maria went out of her way to make us feel at home during my wonderful four-night stay at Hotel Almud with a Gusty Girls snowshoeing trip. She made us a delicious lunch every day and was always there to help. The cosy, comfortable rooms made the hotel feel like home in the mountains. The hotel is well placed in town, within walking distance of lots of great restaurants, and only a short drive from lovely hiking and snowshoeing spots. The place itself was fantastic, but Maria, the owner, made my stay especially lovely. She clearly enjoys meeting people and making sure everyone has a great holiday. When a mix-up meant my suitcase was left behind as we loaded the van to go home, Maria drove to meet us on the way to the airport. Thanks to her, I made my flight. I’m so grateful, and I’ll be back. It feels like I’ve found a home in the mountains.

Maria, the owner, is amazing, and the hotel is in a beautiful spot. It’s really clean, with lovely local artefacts all around, and has what you need. There’s a bar, Maria offers umbrellas, and she’ll happily make coffee for your thermos flask. Highly recommend!

Maria and her sister Nati are such kind, genuine people. Hotel Almud itself feels like a work of art, and we had an incredible stay. I only wish we’d stayed longer.
