Hotel 4R Gran Regina

I had a poor experience at 4R Gran Regina Hotel in Spain, mainly because of the service. My room concerns were simple, but from the start the communication felt dismissive. Racheal responded abruptly and sometimes rudely, and I felt like an inconvenience instead of a guest. The issues weren’t handled efficiently. The hotel has potential in terms of location and facilities, but hospitality is a big part of a stay, and it was seriously lacking for me. One bad interaction can affect the whole visit, and that’s what happened here. I hope management takes feedback like this seriously and improves service for future guests.

The pool was clean, the staff were friendly, and the hotel worked well for families with kids. There was evening entertainment, and the drinks weren’t expensive. We were half board, with a good breakfast selection, and could switch lunch and dinner around, which suited us on nights we went out for food. The maids came in daily to clean and leave fresh towels. There were a few football tournament clubs staying, and only a handful of adults seemed to be supervising the children. It didn’t affect our stay, though.

Avoid this place. The food was awful, and the pizza tasted like sweat. The hotel felt dirty, and I was treated like I was looked down on and served last because I’m English. The bald man at the bar was the worst staff member I’ve ever met. It seemed like he either hates English people or all-inclusive guests. If you’re all-inclusive and not paying, they water down your drinks. There were kids running around with hard balls, squirting people with water guns, and boys jumping into the pool between midnight and 2 a.m. Staff didn’t seem to care, and the lifeguard wasn’t paying attention. At dinner, you still need your card even if you’re wearing an all-inclusive wristband.

I loved my stay at this 4-star hotel in Salou. The buffet had a fantastic range, there were plenty of snacks through the day, and the drinks were all branded. If you’re looking for an all-inclusive place in beautiful Salou, this is a great choice. I was meant to come back this year but chose Benidorm instead. This year I’ll be walking along that lovely beach with a beautiful Calippo slushie.
