The apartment was unbearably hot, dirty, and had broken things when we arrived. We’d rented it for four people, then called the office to complain. A woman came to inspect it and offered either one night there before moving us the next day, or a refund that would leave us homeless. They said someone would come clean, but nobody came. We chose the first option and still wanted to make a complaint. She said she didn’t see why we were complaining after agreeing to a solution, then yelled that we had to leave and said they’d refund us anyway. The security deposit is €300, and you have to be at the office by 10 a.m., so you need to leave the apartment well before then to get there. There was no fan, air conditioning, or washing machine. The sofa bed was awful too, with a paper thin mattress over four wooden pieces that dug into you. I’ve included photos so people can see how bad the apartment was.

They’re very keen on cash payments, apparently without giving you a receipt, and their manners leave a lot to be desired. The listing says the apartment is in one place, but you find out on arrival it’s somewhere completely different. They should tell you that upfront. For what you get, it ought to cost half as much. I won’t return.

The trouble started when we got to the place we’d booked and were told our apartment was 7 km away, instead of on the beachfront as expected. They wouldn’t take us there. My partner had booked two nights through Booking two weeks earlier, and we’d arranged an extra night by WhatsApp, payable at the property, after we found we could arrive a night sooner. They still asked us to pay the pet fee and extra night in cash. Since there was no solution at the accommodation we’d booked, we asked for a complaint form. They repeatedly refused, saying we weren’t guests and had no right to one, even though the first two nights had already been paid by card. A woman came out shouting, said rudely that she didn’t want us as guests, and told us to leave. The receptionist repeatedly said we had to cancel the Booking.com reservation ourselves. We wouldn’t, since we weren’t the ones cancelling, so they cancelled it and claimed our card was invalid. Booking.com emailed us about it, though it was the same card they’d charged for the first two nights. The management and service were terrible. We’ve booked holidays through Booking.com many times, and don’t think they should work with places that sell one thing, provide something else, then make you leave if you won’t accept it. Book at Zeus Apartments if you want your holiday to start badly. It was truly unforgettable.
