Aparthotel CYE Holiday Centre

The kids loved the hotel activities, and the entertainment was so good that we stayed in most nights. There were things to do for children and adults during the day as well. The bar service could be a bit slow, but otherwise we had a great stay in a good location. One travel detail to bear in mind: if your agent has arranged bus transfers, the bus won’t come to the hotel or even close. We were dropped about a ten minute walk away, which wasn’t ideal with kids and suitcases. I understand it’s an issue between the hotel and bus companies, even though there’s a large car park across the road. The pickup worked the same way.

The buffet was great, and all the staff worked really hard. With two adults and three kids in a one-bedroom apartment, we found the layout worked well. There were five single beds in total, and the place felt comfortable and spacious. There weren’t enough chairs at either dining table, inside or on the balcony, for all five of us. The shared rooms could also use more hooks for jackets, clothes, bags and especially towels so they don’t get mixed up. An extra mirror would’ve helped a lot, especially with my two daughters. The pool was small and crowded, with too few sunbeds, though staff worked hard to make sure they were shared fairly. The entertainment felt childish, and getting children to shout “sexy bag” struck me as weird and inappropriate.

The evening shows were great for adults and kids, and the hotel’s two entertainment staff were outstanding, really professional and willing to go beyond their jobs. The atmosphere was lovely, with friendly, helpful staff throughout. Cye was just what we needed for a relaxing pool break. The food was delicious, and our room felt like home, clean, spacious, and with comfortable beds. Supermarkets and the beach were both about a five minute walk away.

The entertainment kept us busy with quizzes, water polo, football, inflatables and bingo. It was mostly aimed at children, but we’re young adults and still really enjoyed it. Pedro was a great entertainer. The pool area was lovely and well maintained, and the food and drinks there were good quality and fairly priced. The beach and local supermarkets are conveniently close. We had a pool view from our room and a nice balcony where we could enjoy the weather. The kitchen had exactly what we needed: two hot plates, a decent fridge and a small freezer section. Reception staff were amazing, with useful tips about getting around and what would be open. The whole place and the staff were friendly and suited our trip to Salou perfectly. Be aware there’s an €80 cash deposit at check-in. It’s returned at the end, but we hadn’t known beforehand, so bring enough cash.
