Golden Port Salou & Spa

The hotel has a handy late checkout option until 6pm, though it was too busy for us to get a room extension. They did have a luggage room and free shower facilities, which helped. If you’re flying home late with young kids, I’d consider booking an extra night if your budget allows. We went half board and were impressed with both breakfast and dinner. There was plenty of choice, fresh salad and fruit every day, omelettes made regularly, and meat and fish cooked as needed. When fresh trays came out, the food was piping hot and stayed warm for a while. Beer and wine from the area were reasonably priced, and there are free water fountains by the pool for refilling bottles. My group missed having tea or coffee with dessert, but there was plenty at breakfast. Bring bug spray if you’re prone to bites, as there are bugs around the pool even though you can’t see them. The rooms were immaculate and had a nice-sized smart TV for relaxing before dinner. We stayed September 27 to October 4, 2025, after a friend recommended the hotel. We hadn’t been to Salou in a long time and didn’t know the area, so we were glad to have a tip on where to stay. It’s a beautiful hotel and I’d happily return. It seems suited to all ages.

The staff were pleasant and helpful, and having parking available was a bonus. We also appreciated that the hotel noticed two birthdays in our group without us having to mention them. It was a small gesture, but it made a big impression. Breakfast was the only meal included for us, and it was tasty with a good range: the chef made omelettes to order, there were two ready-made options, and plenty of fresh fruit. The location worked well, with shops and the beach just a short walk away. Everywhere was very clean, although some areas looked a little worn. Our room had been updated but was quite small, with no space to leave a suitcase open.

The staff were lovely with my two kids, always smiling and greeting us, including the cleaners. Jose angel, Rim and especially Paula on reception really looked after us. Thank you! It was our first time in Salou and we loved the holiday. The rooms were outstanding, very clean and cleaned every day. There was loads of choice in the lovely food, and the outdoor and indoor pools were kept clean. The Spa & Beauty also offers treatments at reasonable prices. It’s only a five-minute walk to the beach and shops. I’d recommend this hotel 100%.

Marina at the Spa made my treatment so relaxing, it was really lovely. The facilities were great, everything was very clean, and the staff were much friendlier and more helpful than on our last stay. There’s an exit at the back of the hotel that gives you a short walk to the main strip, though it isn’t signposted. The water refill station is handy, so bring an empty bottle or buy one at the hotel.
