Having to go into the center of Salou to collect and return the key was a hassle. We couldn't get into the apartment until 5 pm, but had to check out before noon. The apartment itself could be fine, but it was really run down. Furniture doors sagged, chairs were coming unglued, and the bathroom doors were rotten. There was no coffee maker, glasses, hangers, some cupboards, or bathroom latches and locks. The window catches were broken too. The TV was a ridiculous 14 inches, and its remote was held together with electrical tape. There were no dish towels. The mattresses were awful, with springs digging in, and the sofa bed was made of cheap foam.

The apartment smelled musty and damp, the forks were incomplete, and the TV was unusable on a large screen. I had to watch on a tiny display, and it kept switching itself off because the remote didn't work. The worst part was dealing with the young man at reception. Their system was down when we arrived for the keys, and he and his colleague seemed nervous. He had guests' NIEs, and insisted my NIE without a photo wasn't valid, even though the Immigration Office issues it to EU citizens and it's accompanied by a passport. He wouldn't say where the pool entrance was or give us any information about it. When I phoned from the apartment to ask, he still couldn't tell me. We'd arrived late, so I said I might leave a little after 12:00 AM to cook something the next day or enjoy the pool. He snapped, “I'm in charge here,” and said he'd take the extra time out of my deposit if I didn't leave on time. When I objected to his answers, he called me unpleasant and worthless, then hung up. My mother later called because the experience had given her high blood pressure. He told her not to waste his time because he wasn't there for that. He showed no respect to a 61-year-old woman and hung up on her too. I don't recommend these apartments at all.

A lovely apartment for the day, and a great price for a family of four or even more. It was a little out of the way, which made it a good place to relax since Salou can be quite noisy. We found it comfortable and it had everything we needed for a few days. 👍🏼
