Olympus Palace Hotel

The restaurant was clean, the staff there were welcoming, and the food was fresh, tasty, and had a good range of choices. But we couldn't recommend the hotel to others after what happened with our room, despite its excellent location. We'd booked a five-day family holiday at Hotel Olympus Palace and paid more through the agency to get a larger, better room for two adults and one child. We arrived at 22:00 after notifying the hotel weeks earlier that we'd be late. Diana at reception seemed annoyed, rolled her eyes, was rude, and gave us hardly any information. The room was much smaller than the one we'd paid for and didn't look like the website photos. It also hadn't been properly cleaned: there was hair and dirt in the bathroom, a dirty floor, and the toilet was literally brown with dirt. I took photos back to reception. Diana rolled her eyes again, didn't seem to care, and said, "You are only staying for 5 days." She didn't offer to get the bathroom cleaned that night or do anything to fix the problem. When I asked about another room, she said they were all booked. I asked if that meant we'd have to clean the bathroom ourselves to use it, and she still didn't care. It was disgraceful. I've worked in hotels and hospitality for years and know customers shouldn't be treated this way. She completely ignored the issue as if it were normal. I'm being honest and hope management considers this. Maybe it was an isolated situation, but a five-day stay doesn't mean we should be treated differently. The restaurant was a bright spot, but the handling of our room was unacceptable.

The tourist-area location is good, but I was very disappointed by how some staff, including the manager, treated me. Spanish isn't my first language, and I would have appreciated more patience and courtesy. Basic respect and customer service should apply whatever language a guest speaks. Given the high price of a week on full board and the hotel's 4-star presentation, this was a letdown. If you're not fluent in Spanish, I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The rooftop pool was a real plus, and the hotel is handy for the shops. The beach is about 5-10 minutes away. We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.

The reception team could have been more informative and communicative, but we had a great stay. The half-board food was high quality, really tasty, and there were good options to choose from. The facilities are modern and the location is prime. ✔️🥘
