Tolosa

There was a good range at the included continental breakfast: pastries, meats, cheeses, eggs, hot drinks and juices. The room had air conditioning and was clean, and the location was handy for the beach and restaurants. We were a family of four in a room with four single beds, which felt a bit small for us. There was no mirror in the main room, only in the bathroom. Breakfast ran from 8 to 10am, and towards the end they weren't topping up the items.

Breakfast was lovely and the room was cleaned each day. Good value for money, and only about a ten-minute walk to the beach.

I've stayed at Hotel Tolosa several times, and now I wouldn't choose anywhere else in Salou. It's good value and sits in a lovely part of town, away from all the Brits abroad. The area around it is gorgeous, with lots of nice restaurants and bars, and the beach is an easy stroll away. Breakfast is included and is what you'd expect from a continental hotel, with cured meats, cheeses and pastries. The staff are wonderful too, bringing hot drinks and helping you practise your Spanish. Rooms are simple and comfortable, with good air con, and everywhere is very clean. I love the hotel's simplicity. This must be my third stay, and I'll definitely return soon.

I booked a single room through bookings.com, then asked whether a family room was available for the next day and said I'd pay the difference. They told me to ask the next day, but in the end I didn't need it. The listing said the hotel was in the city centre, but it's actually in an area called old town, about a 25-minute walk from the tourist area. After I left a review on bookings.com, the hotel sent back a very rude message. I wish I could post pictures of the reply I got.
