Hotel Palacio de Samaniego

Samaniego is mostly about wine, and that suited us perfectly. The Palacio is close to everything special in the Rioja region, with Remirez de Ganuza right across the street. With the chef and sommelier's knowledge and great offerings, we had no reason to eat anywhere else. Somehow I came across this gem, and I'm glad I did. Everything about our time there was perfect. Can't wait to return, and thanks to everyone for the stay.

The free e-bikes made it easy and fun to explore nearby trails and the countryside, and we loved having the private outdoor pool for relaxing. The location is ideal for enjoying the region's wine and natural beauty. Our first-night dinner at the superb restaurant was excellent, and the delicious breakfast was a lovely start to each morning. The spacious rooms were beautifully designed and exceptionally comfortable, with charm alongside modern luxury. Service was outstanding, especially Max, who went above and beyond to make everything memorable and easy. A perfect stay, and we can't wait to return!

The evening had a special feel in the serene setting of Samaniego, and the attentive, knowledgeable staff explained each course with genuine hospitality. Their wine pairings showcased Rioja Alavesa beautifully and lifted the whole meal. The tasting menu at Palacio de Samaniego was a memorable celebration of Basque cuisine and culture. It moved through local flavors with seasonal ingredients, elegant presentation, and bold but balanced combinations. From the amuse-bouche through dessert, each course brought creativity and precision. I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting the region.
