I left the day after arriving and had to find somewhere else to stay. I’ve travelled often and never had such an awful experience. The place was old, smelly, rusty, and dirty. The room and bathroom windows were rusty, so I didn’t dare open them. I had to shower in flip-flops and tried not to touch the old, whitish tub. The doors were filthy from years of use without maintenance, and the kitchenware was ancient: a rusty toaster and a disgusting, very old coffee machine. They advertised “breakfast included,” but what they called breakfast was an insult. Reception was very rude and didn’t care when I said I was unhappy with the bungalow and the ants inside. This was after he told me I had to pay to use the safe. When I asked whether the bungalows were cleaned daily, he told me to find the maid and ask her. I quietly said I might complain about the property, and he just replied, “you should.” Luckily, I managed to find other accommodation and leave. Shame on you, your property, your staff, and your lies.

The pool area is great, usually quiet and relaxing, though it can also get lively, fun, and noisy. The bungalows have been refurbished and were clean and well presented. Breakfast is very basic, but there’s a small selection. Jonathan makes great cocktails and is good for a friendly chat. It’s a lovely place to spend a holiday in Gran Canaria, and I’m looking forward to booking again.

The grounds are lovely and the staff were friendly, but the bed in our bungalow was covered in hundreds of ants and we got bitten a lot. I live on the island, know the climate, and expect insects, but this was far beyond that. At 7 pm there was nobody available to help, so we slept on the floor and a sofa. Someone arrived at 2 pm the next day, and we had to insist on being moved to another bungalow. What bothers me most is that nobody from the hotel has replied to me. I worked in hotels for 30 years and never ignored a guest, even an unhappy one.

My mother died, so I couldn’t go on holiday. These people were very unkind and too lazy to write a no-show declaration for my insurance, even though I’d paid everything in advance. I only needed that document, but they still refused. Very, very nasty. I go to Gr. Can. twice a year, but they won’t see me again. Book somewhere else with nicer staff and owners.
