Axel Beach Maspalomas - Adults Only

The pool and bar are a real highlight, with plenty of space, a clean setting and a sociable feel. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and I’d especially recommend booking a massage with Hamza, he was great. The location also makes it easy to reach restaurants, cafes, Yumbo centre and a taxi rank. I stayed five nights in Feb 2026. The rooms felt bland and dated and could use some maintenance, and the steam room needs a refurb. Still, those things wouldn’t put me off coming back.

Maspalomas worked well as a base for seeing the rest of Gran Canaria, and the Global busses were fantastic. There was plenty to see and do nearby, too. The other guests were courteous and great fun, and the spacious rooms were kept really clean, big thanks for that. I picked Axel because it was adults only, not because it’s LGBT friendly, and honestly, I had a great time. The staff were warm and welcoming. Thanks, Axel, for a lovely winter break.

The rooms were comfortable, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were friendly. The location was very good, too. Prices felt a bit high, though. One thing I wish had been made clearer during booking is that the hotel is mainly frequented by a gay clientele. I only really noticed that after arriving, from the posters and general atmosphere.

The rooms have everything you need, and reception always gives a warm, friendly welcome. Thank you, Raiw and Carmen. This was my sixth visit, and I’ve been satisfied each time. It was another wonderful stay, and I’d love to return.
