Barbados II Yumbo Two Bedroom Apartment

There are a limited number of reasonably priced apartments, with good-sized rooms and 2 twin bedrooms. They're self catering and adequately furnished with the amenities you need. The staff are friendly and attentive, and there are 2 good pool areas with life guards present. You must try Becky's breakfast.

Two bedrooms are a big plus, but after staying on and off for the last 15 years, I was disappointed this time. The prices are through the roof, yet the apartment hasn't had a lick of paint for many a year. I booked with Alpha rooms, as I had before, and paid €700 for the week. There was no sun on the balcony and not much of a view, and staff seemed unconcerned about complaints. The canvas sofa had holes in it. The place needs a good refit to justify charging €500 A week. Cheeky buggers.

The Yumbo is just around the corner, and the beach is an easy 10-minute walk away. We spent a week here in October 2011 and would definitely recommend it. Our apartment was clean, and the staff were friendly every time we saw them.
