Bungalows Parque Paraiso I

The bungalow was roomy and cleaned daily, with a good location and a lovely courtyard screened from passersby by plants. The food was probably better than at an average three-star hotel. The beach is about a ten-minute walk away. Parking is on the nearby street and free, though finding an empty spot can get a little tiring in season.

We only came by for three hours to visit my cousin, who was staying in one of the bungalows. Before we went in, we asked the receptionist if that was okay and she said yes. Just 20 minutes later, the manager told us to leave, giving silly excuses about housekeeping not being able to clean properly with “extra luggage.” It was a really disappointing experience. We visit the island four times a year and had been considering this place as our next residence, but that’s definitely off the table now. The poor communication, lack of professionalism and awkward excuses made the whole visit unpleasant. I wouldn’t recommend it.

The grounds look impressive, especially the pool and gardens, and the location is very nice. The food was great and service convenient. Inside, the rooms were on the small side, the beds were uncomfortable, there was no free wifi, and the air conditioner was overpowering. There was an ant colony just outside the house walls, so ants sometimes came in. I’d recommend it for a holiday if you’re planning to spend most of the day outdoors.

We spent eight days here and were really impressed. The modern room had everything we needed, and the garden was clean and full of palms and lovely flowers. The cleaning lady came five times a week, with fresh towels three times weekly. Restaurant staff were friendly and polite, and the buffet food was amazing. You can eat outside in the garden with a special view of the pool, which was lovely, clean and refreshing. There are lots of shops and supermarkets nearby. Parking was the one thing we didn’t like. It’s free on the street in front of the bungalows, but nearly always full because the beach is close. A couple of times we waited five minutes for a space, so we were lucky. I’m giving five stars for the privacy, video security, the ordinary people who booked bungalows, the great, friendly staff and the quiet nights. August, 2018
