Corona Playa

We were lucky enough to have Corona Playa almost to ourselves, which felt like a real luxury. The rooms are simple, but the location more than makes up for that, and we were very happy with our stay. Carlos is everywhere around here, bringing an incredible amount of joy wherever he goes. On a five-point scale, I’d give him a 10 ❤❤

The sea view from the terrace was my favorite part, and the apartment is right on the beachfront in Playa del Inglés. It’s central but still quiet, and the place has been recently renovated with lovely decor. Everything was very clean, and the staff were all attentive and friendly. There are two pools, one for adults and one for children. We’ll definitely be back!

The apartments look lovely and the grounds are well kept. In June 2022 it was peaceful, with tasteful, coordinated lighting, quality beds and sofa bed, a separate entrance for each unit, and two sets of keys. You can also get out via the seafront cliff promenade. Every unit has a sea view, and there’s one air conditioner in the living room and another in the bedroom. The spacious pool is well maintained each day and doesn’t make pump noise. Cleaning was provided five times a week. You could pay by credit card, despite what Booking.com said, and shops plus a Chinese market are 150m away on Avenida de Italia. A little more attention to detail would have made the stay more pleasant. We got a friendly welcome, but nobody checked the inventory. Our TV was poorly mounted, some appliances didn’t work properly, and the water heater was either too small or set too lukewarm. The advertised Wi-Fi is run by an outside service and was very hard to use, since you have to keep logging in through the browser like in public places back in 2000. We had to rely on mobile roaming. The nice crockery is sparse in some apartments and differs from unit to unit. Since no one checks the inventory, it’s hard to know what should be there. There are no FAQs or instructions onsite either. We weren’t sure whether we could move the deck chairs from the terrace to the pool, where they should go at night, or whether there was recycling for bottles and packaging. You have to call the manager in Spanish or English for those answers, which is better than nothing.
