Apartamentos Don Diego

The location is a highlight, five minutes from the beach and just under ten from the Yumbo Centre. The apartments are clean and basic, but they look a bit old and could use some simple refurbishment. They cleaned on most days and changed the towels and linen, although the floors always seemed dirty.

The reception staff were so sweet and helpful, and they even lent us umbrellas for free. The apartment had a pool view, plenty of room, lots of amenities, and still felt cosy. It was clean, and breakfast was good too. Everything was perfect.

We had a wonderful three-week stay, and the staff were excellent, especially Laura at reception. The rooms were cleaned 15 days, with sheets and towels changed every two or three days. The central location is a five-minute walk from the beach. Breakfast was lovely. It was the same each morning, but there was enough to mix up what you ate. Facilities were excellent, and we really liked having an adults-only pool. I'll definitely return if I'm back at this resort. My only gripe was other guests rushing down before pool opening to claim the best sunbeds with towels, then vanishing for hours as if they were entitled to hold them. That's an old problem beyond the apartments' control.

I went last May and am heading back this December. It's a nice complex with pleasant rooms and AC. There are two pools, one for adults only and a larger one with a pool bar. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the area between Kasbah and Yumbo has lots of pubs and restaurants. As a solo traveller, I felt safe walking back “home” at night.
