Jacarandas Beach

We only needed a place for one night while passing through, and the price was great. Everything was handled online. The apartment was roomy, though a little dated, and the extra-large bed was really comfortable. It’s up a hill, and I had to use Google earth to find it. It seemed aimed more at younger people, but there was no noise or other trouble. I’d definitely use it again.

The pool was pleasant, with no scramble for sunbeds, and the location is handy: five minutes on foot to the beach and restaurants, around fifteen to Yumbo centre. The rooms are basic but clean, and the beds are comfortable. It was hard without air-conditioning; there was a fan, but the place really needs AC. The towels were very thin and worn. I’d stay again if they installed air-conditioning.

The outdoor space was lovely, and while the pool is small, it was nice for a cooling swim. The loungers were comfortable until they got extremely hot in the sun, and needed to be fully covered to avoid getting burned. Across the road, construction was very noisy, especially in the mornings, and made it difficult to relax by the pool. That wasn’t the hotel’s fault, but it affected our stay. For what we paid, the hotel was good. The basics included a comfortable bed, a small TV above it, and a very large balcony with doors from both the living room and bedroom. The kitchen had a fridge/freezer box, two cooking rings, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. The cleaner came five days a week, which was plenty for us, did a good job, and didn’t come too early. We waited a long time at the gate when we arrived. Nobody answered the intercom, and another guest had to let us in. One of the two receptionists didn’t speak English, which made getting help hard, but the other was great. All in all, we had an excellent stay.

It’s a peaceful spot among bigger hotels, close to all the local amenities. The apartments were roomy, comfortable, spotless and well equipped. A lovely place to stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.
